Title: Mexican and Canadian Flag Kettles
Post by: MaxBobcat on November 27, 2018, 04:12:46 PM
I know I saw them on Instagram about a year ago now, but does anybody have any pictures of the custom kettles that were painted like the Mexican Flag or the Canadian Flag?

Thank you

I haven’t seen a Mexico grill, but here is a photo of the Canada grill, courtesy of SixZeroFour.

Here is one from the Grill Academy in Canada... I think I have a shot of the Mex kettle as well at home - will post up later if I can find it.

Wow that's so cool, were any of these ever released to the public?

@jp217p - No. I believe they were custom produced for display at Weber facilities.

Those kettles were just painted to look good. You cannot cook on them, they are only for display.

I answered that just above your post.  No, you can't cook on them. It's just paint.

I've seen UDS with custom paint jobs that hold up. But then again a UDS won't get as high a temp as a Weber kettle.

My US version is powder coated and rated to about 500*, so yes I could cook burgers and dogs in it if I was careful. I wouldn’t do steaks. That said, I never will. I’ve got other cookers.

It's always better when you're cooking on a Weber!

I think we need a bit of an explanation here. The grills at Weber Canada are just painted for display only. Those at Weber USA are the same(as I was told). Rub had his powdercoated and that was something he had custom made.  These grills can not be cooked on, they are made only to look pretty in a display.
