I just read the kickstarted campaign. What a great idea. I plan on watching the video after work and will back this campaign... $49 for a probe!

A single AAA battery lasts 48 hours on a single charge.
Internal temperature sensor range: 212F (100C)
Ambient temperature sensor range: 527F (275C)

interesting. going to see if wife will let me kick in for 150 (4 probes and the block, which i think would be essential because bluetooth is terrible on its own)

What's the difference between the 149 and 169 dollar option? Just a higher donation?

If they both appear to be identical, then I assume that the diff is if you do it now you save $20 - if you put it off until the early birds like Troy & I get a $20 savings over the folks who took longer to decide - as the old song goes I was stoned and I missed it 8)

Few things- The dual temp probe is a great idea. The charging method is very elegant. It's very smart to put the sensitive electronics into the probe end so that it will never go beyond 212F under normal use. Hopefully there is a fail safe if the meat probe is exposed to higher temps. Batteries and solder don't like high heat. I wonder what the sampling rate is over btle. 48h of uptime seems high unless it's in a low energy sleep mode most of the time. I'm also concerned about the range from the BBQ with the lid closed. I haven't been satisfied with the range/signal transmission quality of btle thermometers so for me the meater block will be necessary.

WHY DOESN'T THE COOKED FOOD HAVE PROBE HOLES IN THE PICTURE?
