Sears economy kettle
« on: March 27, 2013, 08:04:21 PM »
This looks like a Sears economy kettle, sold in the 90's.  The charcoal grate rests on a disc insert with holes punched all around it for air flow.

I don't see many of these and this one is in great condition.

Okay, the lid is smashed in and it's chained to the balcony? I think this "Sears Bondage Kettle" should be posted in the personals section. ;D

I drove by one the other day in front of an estate sale in my neighborhood last saturday and just kept driving. The ash catchers are worth a couple bucks and that's about it. These people actually think someone would bid on this? It looks like something out of a Tarantino flick.;D

The pics of that grill make me wana get my black vinyl shirt out of the closet and put some BBQ sauce on the wifes edible undies(also available at sears).

Ken I think the sellers of that grill are waiting for you to show up wearing that gas mask and the hat you wear with it.

IIRC the kettle Weber made for Sears was called the Happy Cooker, and now we know why.

If they find a way to put any more liquid in meat charcoal grilling will be an underwater sport.

I could just imagine the Weber SM (sado-masochistic) cookbook.  There would be entries like "put that thick juicy steak in me" or the "whipped tender thighs dripped with a hot glaze sauce".  The cooking techniques would instruct the user to "smack that ash catcher" and "proper chain handling".  And you wouldn't use spatulas or tongs, but whips and chains.  I wonder why the SM kettle never caught on.
