Genesis 1000, $350

Owner says this '97 Genesis is unused, and from the pics I don't doubt it.  Question is - do you guys think it's worth the asking price?

Personally, I would try to negotiate it down a little.  But I also would probably pay the asking price if they were firm on price. This model was my first Weber grill. An I am looking for another. So the price I am willing to pay is little more than most probably.  Given the sentimental value to me.

I think it is worth the asking price.
You can't buy a new 2 burner Spirit that was built in China for that.
And it will last for a very long time.

Nice grill, but sure doesn't look new to me. Those knobs aren't correct for 1997 .. Firebox looks painted. Why is the wood discolored?

Could be new, but I don't think it is.

On second look .. maybe it is? Just doesn't have that new look to me. I bought a 2004 unused SSP. You can just tell it was never used. Something looks off on this one to me. Pretty grill though. Definitely worth the $$$

I kind of agree with you hear. Maybe restored?  Does seem that something is odd... Iíd love to find one of these in decent shape for cheap, do a restore on it myself. I donít currently have a gas grill, have been looking to add one of these to the stable. That said, I wouldnít pay $350 for it, not worth that much to me, to cook hot dogs on.

Looking at it again I agree the knobs don't look correct.

Having done my share, looks to be a really nice resto.
Knobs are off of a Silver B.  A good pic of the inside of
the firebox would likely clear up the issue.

This, the flavorivers will tell a lot also and itís curious why thereís not a pic under the grates.
