Anyone posted an add on Craig's List lately?
« on: February 11, 2019, 12:48:42 PM »

Had a Weber Q320 I finished cleaning up to flip so I created an add today on Craig's List.  Got ready to post the add and it stated I had to pay $3 by Credit Card to post the add.  For now I just posted the add on Facebook Marketplace.  Guess it was bound to happen.   Wonder how long it will take Facebook Marketplace to start charging?

Hold on, recall the bombers.  For the heck of it I went back and redid my add.  The second time it posted with no request for payment.  The first add still shows as a draft in my account and I see nothing different between it and the second add.  Hope it was just a glitch.

Maybe the system messed up & thought you placed an employment ad.  If memory serves, there is some nominal charge for that.  If they haven't already, you'd think they would first go after ads for real estate next, then vehicles before getting around to other stuff.

Hal

Well, I win the Archie Bunker "Meathead" award.  Went back again looking at my original add and somehow I had clicked on a Dealer add option.  That was the reason for the $3 fee.

Funny, I was guessing they might charge if you clicked "dealer" for selling a vehicle, but didn't mention dealers because I didn't realize that had that as a choice for other stuff.  Maybe they just started it, or maybe I just kind of ignored it the few times I've listed stuff (other than noticing it when I listed a vehicle).
