1984 Weber estate?
« on: September 12, 2017, 04:49:11 PM »
Hey guys haven't been on in a while but wanted to bounce this off some other kettle heads in the know. The date code jives from the pics he sent me, and it looks super cherry inside and out, aside from the grates... when I messages him he said he's wanting 200-300 dollhairs for it which I think is too steep, is that a reasonable price?

What do you think it's actually worth then? The guy already admitted he got it out of a barn for presumably cheap or free from an older gentlemen, I think he thinks it's just worth a lot because it's old and trying to make easy money lol.

It's clean for sure. Depending on your area, I'd say $80-$100, but I'd start lower. Just my opinion.

Really clean F code brownie? I'd maybe go $150 but I'd need to see it live before going that high. The age old question, what's it worth? Whatever your willing to pay brother. Good luck.

He told me it was in a barn in the box still since it was new and he put it together. Not sure if he's being truthful or not. Either way, it's clear he was just trying to make a quick buck because he thought it was old and mint, which it clearly isn't. I mean, it's in great shape but I'm not paying him what he wants for it. At any rate, I passed on it. I have too many kettles right now anyway, my wife would flip her lid if I bought another one... unless I find a ranch or summit for cheap, then I'll gladly sleep on the couch LOL

Did you make any offer at all? If so what was it? I'd love to have this and I'd probably pay $100 if local but shipping to Ohio would kill the deal.
