This is the blue two rivet three wheel 22.5 that I picked up a few weeks ago. I bought it from grannies grandchildren on her behalf because they are moving granny to a retirement home. I bet this grill could tell some stories. (I was only able to upload two pictures for some reason?)

Thanks guys, yeah this is a rare one because it's right before the blue changed and they did away with the double rivet. I think it's about the last year for the three vents, but not positive.

Crap! I dug around in my yard all afternoon and I didn't find a single blue kettle.

That is a fantastic collection. That pizza set up in the back right looks great. Love the tiled finish.
And that baby blue at the front....well....words fail me. All I can say is amazing.

Brian, that baby blue front and center is exactly like the one my Dad started me on back in the seventies. Not too far from you, either-- in Rockford.
In my mind, that's the 'normal' color of a Weber grill. ;-) He still has it, of course.

glrasm's looks to be in better shape, mine has some dings etc. i'm trying not to be a collector but it's not going well.
if my project "ole blue" survives and the POR is a success next spring i can think about filling in the chips on this one.
unless that's complete blashphemy but i think the "restore" tagline means it's okay.

I rescued this AA code blue 10 days ago. It had some neglect, and I could tell that it had been left outside all winter.
Still had half a ash bucket of ash and such, plus some charcoal bits n' pieces in the bowl. The Respect just wasn't there, but the price was right. :) :)
This was my closest-to-home rescue so far. About 10 minutes away.
This kettle was not for me, as I already have one. My buddy asked me to keep a lookout for a blue kettle.
He has never owned one, and is not a collector, he just wanted a blue. I cleaned it up the best I could, then handed it over.
He was very pleased, to say the least. He's been using it a lot already, and has said he will not go back to gas. That was good to hear. :D

I don't have a picture of it, but my stepgrandmother has a blue one touch gold that she and my grandfather bought several years ago. I think they got it when they moved into the house she's still living in now.
That blue barbecue is special to me for several reasons. One, for the fact it's my grandparents', but it's also the one that put me onto the idea of cooking with charcoal. Also, it's blue - and this is very important: My grandfather specifically wanted one of the blue ones because he was colourblind and the blue was bright and vibrant stood out to him. I had the same reaction as my grandfather did when I saw it for the first time for the same reason. Like grandpa, I'm colourblind too. Actually, I really, truly do have part of my grandfather in me because colourblindness is hereditary and that's where I have it from handed down that side of the family, and the blue Weber stood out to me exactly the same way as it did for my grandfather because we both have the same skip-a-generation hereditary vision problem. Blue kettles always remind me of my grandfather and his blue barbecue, and that link between the two of us.
I miss grandpa.

When I get them, I will showcase them individually and on my kettles. I can not wait to get them and show off.

I think you will find that the handles will look better that that picture from @Cellar2ful . No disrespect intended and I'm sure Cellar2ful will agree with me here. No matter how good the pictures look, they are a flat 2 dimensional representation of the actual handle. Once you see the real thing, there is a certain iridescence with the way the light plays with the grain and the varnish... it changes as you move the handle and the angle of the light changes.
I'm sure you will enjoy them very much. Brian does fantastic work.

I think it will look better on Red. Wait till I get my handles. I will post up pics when I get them next week.
I will post pics of different color kettle combo with diff. woods. Hopefully you guys can pick your favorite and order up from Zav without guessing how it will look on your kettle.

They look fantastic on a red head. Don't have pics right now as I gave the red to a friend a few months ago, but it will probably be coming back soon since he's just fallen in love with vintage red Gennie's and has recently acquired 3, and is running out of room.

I love my blue. I have had it for 6 months and it has become my every day cooker. I do have an issue with it. The metal strap for the handle on the lid is going to come off. It is very loose.

No the roti is original from the early 1960's (glen blue porcelain enamel). I also have the spit, motor and forks. The original owner bought it as a set in the early 1960's (roti and Glen Blue kettle). During this time period, Weber did some porcelain enamel coating on ash pans, utility pans, legs, triangles and roti.

This is my buddy Matt's new grill. It's a cosmetically damaged, NOS One Touch Gold. There are 2 pockmarks on the opposite side of the lid and two sockets have some paint chipped off. I set him up with 3 zavod handles, a slightly used chimney, a Marty Bigger Better Basket, and maybe something else tossed into the box I've forgotten.
@JEBIV and @Mr.CPHo thankfully handled transportation to get it to him. Gents, I'd say we done good.
Matt says it'll see it's first load of charcoal next weekend. :)

One of the first kettles I started looking for after I joined WKC was a blue 1996 (wedding anniversary kettle). I picked this up from a local
Online ad. Original owner loved bbq but was forced to sell due to a move. It cleaned up nicely. Just have to work on the vents and put it back together (I picked it up caddywampus)

Very nice. It's exactly the same age as my grandmother's blue which is a DI as well. We used it last weekend and had a nice little barbecue at her place.
