Mini WSM going despite the Florida rain.
I live in Florida and cook in the rain too
Yes those pop up thunderstorms can wreck havoc on a long cook.
What area of Florida do you live in ?
Cheers

Nice pics! I'm in Tampa, passing the time.

@AmirMortal
I’m two hours north of you in Gainesville.
We’re all just passing time, it’s how you spend that time that matters.

As a midwestern person who smoked a chuck roast during the 40 below polar vortex, I approve this message. :)

I grew up in and spent 17 years of my teens and early adult life in that town. 3 or 4 o'clock rain is just summer life there.

I lived in Northern KY for 25 or so years and they get fair amount of rain there 45+ inches a year. So I took a patio umbrella and by using a short 19 inch piece of PVC pipe end cap and two hose cramps , I attached the umbrella to the rear leg of my performer that way I could move it to where I was most needed. Very handy and stable too, and this way you always had a table handy.

I did a pork butt on the mini wsm this past weekend did NOT use my iGrill, just rolled the dice that I’d be fine overnight...woke up the next morning to check it, it had rained and my pit was at about 125....(facepalm)

When it rains, I often use what I'll call the Weber Firepit Method with my SSP.
Just to use the WFM would be another great reason to consider mounting a WSM in an old Performer frame.

I've also put up one of those 10 x 10 canopies & keep the canopy low (in case of wind). I'll pop it back up a bit when I want to check on things. I've also picked up quite a few of these dog stake out corkscrew things at garage sales & flea markets for $1 or even 50 cents, they really help anchor canopies, tents, whatever.
