I picked up a NiB Deep Ocean Blue MT off CL. It has a Corona logo on it. It feels like it's raised. Is it removable? Or is it under the porcelain?
-
I’d try a razor blade on a corner and see what happens.

I am not positive but I think it is porcelain like the instructions on the control panels of the older gassers.

The age of the kettle can make a difference. I believe some of the newer kettles didn't have as high of quality paint as some of the older kettles. I think some of the older kettles may have actually been porcelain coated.
@JEBIV Probably knows. I remember seeing someone on Facebook with a logo that was starting to come off and he seemed to know what was up.

I was gonna make a joke in bad taste, but instead....
Maybe someone is looking for a logo’d kettle if you’re interested in letting it go?
I can’t imagine it coming off clean, or at least without leaving an imprint

Ive tried several methods and had no luck. It seems really baked on

I wonder if the logo on your new Deep Ocean Blue MT could be a new "low temp decal". In this Weber customization guide, it says these are only available on black charcoal lids. If it's the older style logo, it's not coming off as it's part of the porcelain enamel. As mentioned above, you might list the kettle in the Forum's Member Sales and Trades section as a "trade for a NIB non logo Deep Ocean Blue MT" rather than try and remove the logo.

I've tried several times to remove these animal "logos". No luck trying several methods. I've learned to live with them.

Who wants a bunch of farm animals on their grill

If you try to remove it let us know how it came out.

Thank you very much for all of the replies! I was hopeful that the logo was applied on top of the porcelain because it was raised. I restored a Genesis 1000, so I knew the control panel printing was underneath the porcelain and how to use a razor blade on the porcelain. I experimented on the ® part of the logo. I sprayed it with Dawn HD degreaser and it scraped off with little effort. Here are the before and after photos:

Thanks again!

Good to know it can be done. It must have been the new low temp decal. Thanks for the update.

I'm not sure what it was. The model number/serial number label included "Corona," so I'm sure that it came that way from Weber. But the logo came off in thin pieces like when you scrape off paint with a razor blade.

Nice work. I think it looks much better without the logo. I’ve always been partial to blue kettles

My homer is partially scrapped off, so I was gonna say you could probably get it off of there, I cant even tell where the logo was! Can you tell in person?

Really surprised how close this blue is to the 90s/2000 blue. The logos do really look like the old ones but good to know they are removable if someone decides they want it removed.

I don't think i would have changed the kettle at all. That was unique. I know I can find the blue, as I have one.
As far as the animal logos, I can trade you a NIB grill for it. Any color they make. Ivory maybe?
