Title: First Brownie!

And this showed up today..... now I have something to do on Sunday!  Dangerous having restoration supplies on hand.....

Thanks, it’s now in our workout room....just for a little while.  It would normally sit in the home office, but my wife is now working from home so..... she suggested that I have a Weber kettle room.  I may take her up on it!  Nice to have an understanding spouse and a 5 BR house....

This might actually become a reality for me too.... Remember when chasing tail was a thing?  Yeah been a while for me too.  Now I like old grills.  Hmmmm.

Nice!  A little more vintage than mine.... might have seen that one FS in NC for $100.  I’d have bought that in a second if I were standing there!

Mine's an F code, so 1984.  Definitely newer than Jones.......  Looking forward to the restore!

I am guessing mine is 73-74 as it has all plastic wheels but still has the one small tab on vents.

That's grate and a good price too I'd say.  Not sure if you're into full restoration, but I tell you what - the instructions on this web page are spot on.  I never knew that you could scrape these with a flat razor blade and get all the gunk out, following up with weber grill cleaner and 000 steel wool and they darn near look new inside.  And for the legs, fine sandpaper sponge squares and 0000 steel wool will make them shine and look new again. Drill and a wire wheel will clean up the nastiest triangle too.....

@JonesBBQ glad that thing went to a member!  Thought about it but it's a bit of a haul for where I'm at.  Looking forward to seeing some clean up pics and cooks!  Enjoy it!

And completed the restoration today.  New triangle and wheels, Restored the legs with fine grit and 0000 steel wool, refinished all 3 wood handles, new Killa Grilla grates and finished it off with a NOS Weber sidekick.  Some before shots, after shots next post.

And after.... also installed a new ash sweep.  still may try to polish up the top vent a little.  Very happy with my 1984 Chocolate F code.

I don’t know... I had more issues with the legs on this one than I have others and I’m sure the pan would be the same.  California grill here, maybe something environmentally different?  Porcelain is really nice on this one just a few dings here and there.  Original handles turned out nicely I thought.
