Anyone doing SCA events on a 22” kettle? Any tips or drawbacks?

I compete in them but use a Pk. You’ll see all kinds of grills , from kettles to the M grills C4 Ammo cans. Pk’s are by far the favorite. Easier to travel with , holds heat better and more evenly , and indestructible ! That being said , you don’t have to have a PK to win just make sure you have some Grill Grates for it.

Had to look up SCA, didn’t have a clue...I’m just a dimple guy, but the best steak I’ve ever done was several years ago, dine white cooking wine with a little Worcester marinade, did indirect til about 115, then seared the outside. Turned out incredible.
