One month left to the unofficial start of Mod Month 2019 - the sixth since WKC was formed. It started off as an October thing, then jumped around a bit, then got folded into the ongoing Mods forum. Now it's basically my excuse to come up with another poster once a year, and think about all the mods I wish I had time to execute. We see all kinds of cool mods throughout the year, so go ahead and re-post in this thread if you like - it's a cool way to keep kettle mods front and center. As always, no rules. No prizes. Have fun!

Here's the full set from the first five years. As you can see I enjoy riffing off popular culture.

Excellent work, as usual.

Heck, I'll go first Marty. I made these mini charcoal baskets back in April of this year. They are the perfect size for my 18" kettles, including my Outrider.

For mod month many people make custom handles how do you avoid helicopter syndrome?

@Al b que - I put two small dabs of silicone on the bottom of the top handle before screwing it down. Wipe off any excess that may squeeze out and let it dry overnight. Haven't had the handle spin since I used this method and it's on my 26" lid which is one heavy mother.

Order them from Zavod44, he makes a groove in the top and bottom pieces of them so they do not spin. Or you can split the groove between the two pieces yourself.

I like it! When I put wood handles on my 22 wsm I noticed that the pieces to keep it from spinning were not there. I haven't used it yet, but this makes me wanna go 2 screw handles for sure
