I'm in the process of restoring my B code Sequoia,
I'd love to get it back looking original

I've pulled it down and cleaned and sanded it back to bare timber
Just wondering what the best process is from here to refinishing

We mainly use hardwoods in Australia so im unfamiliar with finishing softwoods
Any help with stain/colour and sealant would be great

@Hogsy , This a product I have been happy with. Use it on my deck, handles and C&B table.
Not sure if is available your side of the pond, but something similar I'm sure.

Thanks @glrasmussen , that decking oil looks similar to what I'm using. Problem with outdoor oils is they have a UV tint in them which darkens the stain once applied

I didn't realize your going to stain and seal. I just use this product that is already tinted and has UV protection.
Here they show what the wood is going to look like after it is applied. Your Redwood here will pop with just the oil.
It is going to darken more than you sanded piece. Hit it with water and that will show what it is most likely going to look like.

I agree with @glrasmussen that you may not need to stain at all, just go for the oil/sealer. You have plenty of space on the underside to test a few things out and see what works.
