Post by: Raindog on May 20, 2017, 04:14:18 PM
Is there such a thing as a meat thermometer that can be used wireless for rotisserie cooking?

Thanks 1buckie. I looked into the Maverick but there are none to be found. (except one place in Europe that wants $80 with shipping.) I'll try and modify a wireless I already have.

This is what I'd really like but it's still a pipe dream...

The single "Meater" one is $69....less than a Thermapen.....or, do you need extra additions (like some monitor unit)  to run it?

My igrill2 probe made it through the stock bushing on my onlyfire rotisserie. The base unit was easy enough to attach via rubber band. It worked out better than I expected.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170521/143382c1fd6960abae87b57f308d3b6c.jpg)

The Meater has been "Pre Order" for over 1.5 years now. I think it's stuck in development mode... I've never used a rotisserie until recently so I'm looking st all ideas.

Thanks Don. This is where I'll probably end up. I hate instant check poking  ;)

Me too, and the four probe ports may prove handy down the road too.
Range was the only concern with the igrill2 for me...my grilling area is about 25-30 feet from the back of the house, and my recliner(where I'm often found on a rainy/cold day) is in a front room...it makes it, but only just.

I have a Maverick Et-75 rotisserie thermometer. I broke the mounting bracket the second time out. I now use double-stick foam tape to secure it to the handle.
I like it. Have to steel wool the probe connector occasionally to get it to recognize the probe.
