Title: Road trip to Wisconsin = 1 Summit
Post by: mcgolden on April 29, 2017, 01:57:58 PM
After selling my Ranch this week I rolled the funds into my new Charcoal Summit. Eight hours round trip and totally worth it.

Grest looking cooker was this a floor demo model, or just a sad owner?

Congrats to you too. Which way did you go?  Table or no table?

Went with the table. Really like the tripod look without the table. Didn't know which I wanted but when I got there all they had left was the table model. So it made my decision easy!!!

Looking pretty bad-ass dude....more so than with the side table. Hope you don't miss the Ranch too much. I'd be afraid it'd give me nightmares.

I'm sure I'll be good with this. The ranch was very cool but just mor grill than I needed.

Such a neat grill. I saw one in person at an ace. Very nice piece of hardware. Enjoy.

Congrats on the SCG

Unless you're cooking for huge crowds every weekend you wont miss the ranch one bit. 8)

Do the stand alone Summits sit lower than the Grilling Center Summits, similar to the way a Performer is a bit taller than the stand alone kettles?

From pictured I've seen, they appear to be the same height.

Nothing big because I'm itching to fire it up tonight. Thinking New York strip for the wife and daughter and a ribeye for me.  Already did an initial burn yesterday to get it ready.

Used the gas ignitor with the charcoal grate at the raised level. Wasn't sure how it would go, but it worked like a champ.

The wheels on these look really nice.  Pretty smooth to move it around?  @mcgolden

Very. The back wheels are the typical plastic Performer type wheels but the front caster is heavy duty and very smooth. So the whole things maneuvers very well. Also the wheel lock works great and is large enough to lock and unlock with your foot so you don't need to bend over.
