Title: Polished Steel?
Post by: Kilted_Griller on April 13, 2013, 06:31:22 AM
I picked up a Hunters Pink kettle a few weeks back and she in really rough shape. Several rust spots, missing bottom vents, just basically pretty nasty. I was wondering If I could strip it down to bare metal and polish it? Can you media blast a kettle? Has anyone ever done, or heard of this? I think a polished kettle would look awesome!!
Thanks for the help!!

Slainte!

That one was never coated with porcelain.  It was a special deal done by an insider at Weber.
Its very cool.
So, can you remove the coating? It won't be easy, and I don't know what damage would be to the metal. I also don't think you can get into all the little nooks and crannies as they say..
Might have to try my grinder on a basket case..
