Title: This grill travelled 11000 miles
Post by: IndianBBQ on March 23, 2017, 07:25:53 AM
Several weeks back I posted a question to ask if mastertouch is worth the extra above premium. I eventually travelled to USA and got a mastertouch in Dallas.  I got it from amazon after visiting home depot lowes sears since none of them carried it.

I then carried the grill from DFW hotel to airport. DALLAS airport to DOHA airport. DoHA airport to DELHi Airport and then a 6 hours drive to my hometown.

After 34 hours of journey I reached home tired at 7 30 am. At 8 AM,  I was doing this...

After assembly... i passed out and then came the glorious evening...

Just did a burt out on first day and used it to churn out a batch of home made firestarters

The adventure will continue.......

Awesome, congratulations!
So glad it worked out for you, I also love the floor of your outdoor area!
Maybe for the next trip, we can try and find you a vintage one

Glad you and your new MT made it home safely. Please tell us about the lights you are using. You have a very nice setup. If you are coming back in May I'd say get another MT for extra cooking space and maybe parts also. Nothing wrong with owning 2 of the same kettle. [emoji13]

Very cool story. You sound like me with my first one. Couldn't wait to light a fire in it. Lol

That is a great story, thank you. And it looks like you have a very nice cooking space ready for the MT.

What to buy? I can't tell you - because I don't know what you cook. A Slow N Sear makes it very convenient to cook a low temp, then finish with a high temp. A 26er is BIG, which is nice. It depends on what you do with it. (Hey, maybe a rotisserie?)

WNC's suggestion of going vintage sounds good to me, but I don't know what you prefer.

Awesome job! Very happy that the TSA didn't "inspect" your package. I've had more things removed from my luggage because of said inspections.

I keep going back to this thread, because it is so interesting. What a great story.

Don't you think that MT would look really great with some Uncle Al sidewalls?

@IndianBBQ
Do post some of your cooks and recipe's with your weber kettle. My friend Bharat will once in a while stop by and make a curry for us and I've been talking to him about incorporating the grill perhaps next time around.. I'd love to get some ideas!
