Well, I decided today I would use this beast for what it is meant to do. Nothing fancy, but I am sure she liked the taste of some charcoal,
Decided to use the ring from a 22 in WSM and basket to make a defined fire ring - I thought this would aid in charcoal usage.

Here are few more pics - sorry there weren't more. First cook with her I was spending some time figuring out vent-temp control.
Chickens, 10 in CI skillet with cornbread, and baked sweet potatoes with room to spare.

Chickens were rubbed with commercial rubs (John Henry's and Plowboys) and smoked over mulberry.

The chickens and some of the veggies will be eaten during the busy work week. I didn't get a pic but the protein for tonight's meal was a big slab of fresh grilled salmon over some alder. I still have some learning how to master the three bottom vents, but the first cook went pretty good. I did have to add some lump towards the end of the cook , but the charcoal consumption wasn't that much more than the 26 in kettle. Love the room - never can have too much .

Never cooked cornbread on the kettles yet. Always see a new idea on the WKC.
Have any of your friends or neighbors seen you Ranch Kettle ?
If so, what were their comments ?? :o :o

I have cooked cornbread numerous times in the kettle. Use a CI skillet and preheat it to get a nice crust.
I can't wait until the first cookout with friends/neighbors - I am sure the RK will get some attention.
