Very nice. Does the roaster have a thing in the middle to hold the bird or a can?

I wondered the same thing.  Nice looking bird. What seasoning did you use?

Has a stainless steel cup to hold liquid and set the bird on. It's also removable. Spins and locks in.

Thats pretty slick!  Is it me or did the top of the bird cook a little more than the bottom?  I'm wondering if that is the case if cooking the bird ass up would help cook the dark meat a little bit more?

It did cook a little more. Don't know if the veggies were blocking some of the heat ? Was my first time using it but loved it. Filled up the cup with onions , lemons , apple , and beer. Nice to pull off and meat and sides done at same time. May try next one without the veggies and see how the bottom cooks

@wessonjb  - What was your coal setup?  Did you place the roaster in your gourmet grate?

In the gbs grate. Baskets on the sides. Next time I'm also spreading the coals across the bottom. I rotated the pan every 20 minutes or so. With the baskets , there was always two sides closer to the coals.
