Title: performer (??) in Maryland
Post by: bryanw21157 on March 11, 2013, 09:56:06 AM
I found this grill not too far from me

I currently have two Webers...a Go-Anywhere and a 22.5" OTS (without side table)

Other than the side table, is there any benefit to this grill over my OTS ?

thanks

No, Platinum.

No igniter or storage. It does have the advantage of the ash bucket. I have one that I thought was a Performer when I bought it. I like the extra table space. IMO that one is priced a little high. I'd wait to see if it gets relisted (or wait for a real Performer if that's what you want.)

I agree with Hank on the price.

Thanks for the input.  I'm passing on it, even though the seller would let it go for 100.00

since I already have the tool holder and all I needed was the table, I bought the Bar B Que Buddy table (I know, not the 7413...but I have a fold-up charcoal grill
that I take camping.  I can use this table with it too) for 35.00+shipping

For me, a hundred bucks is too much for that stripped down version.  I picked up the fully-loaded model on Sunday for $150

I'm sure I'm missing a few features, but the gas assist, tilt out charcoal bin (great for trash), tool holder hooks, lid thermometer, aluminum (?) frame, larger wheels, etc...  were worth it to me.

while I like the idea of the Gas Assist, I just like setting stuff on fire too much to give up my chimney starter!   :)

Don't have to give it up.  Right now, I use the side burner of my gasser to light the chimney.  lol
With the gas, I'll let wifey fire up the charcoal.  Not something I'd do with the regular ol kettle. She's like a bull in a china shop.  :)

I always thought those side burners were useless...Right now I crank up my chimneys in the performer but use newspaper if time permits.
