Title: cleaning and restoration
Post by: crazej36 on July 25, 2014, 01:21:42 AM
There is a winter grilling guide but no cleaning and restoration guide in the resource section ? Seems odd. There is lots of great tips and tricks posted if you can find them. would make sense to have a quick reference. Also if there was a buying your first CL/ebay kettle guide would help the new guys like my self a bunch .

It kind of goes in pieces at this point....

Rust removal is in one, aluminum polishing in another, wheel rehab in another....

I try to set these aside & copy the links as they come up, and Gummi & others do collect these too, but it might end up being quite a lot to cram all into one thread.....

Some aspects also end up as articles on the main page, useful, but unseen if you're barreling around in the forums looking for ideas.....

We'll see if we can maybe get it a bit more clear & concise....that would be good, I agree !!!!

ok, so we have the content.

Who wants to help clean it up and make it organized and presentable for the main site?

Several things about putting it on the front page......

If it's a weekly post, it soon gets lost in the shuffle......

If it's tagged along with the wooden handles and age guide, it would be more accessible, but needs to be in a different form to be readable / workable.................

If put in the "Technical Reference Guide", it might be best accessed, perhaps with a link from the Age Guide & Handles area on the front page also........

IMHO, how info gets logged & made available,  needs to be thought out before it gets thrown up.........

don't worry about that, we'll put links to all the guides in an easily accessible place :)
I just need help writing, editing, and putting all of this stuff together.

i was going to suggest a restoration thread again that could be stickied at the top of the forum, or have it's own sub-forum for people to post threads of their builds/restorations.  i was very surprised to see this didn't exist on a site thats partially about restoring them.

i'd help, but i'm not experienced/knowledgeable enough on them to be accurate.  once i do know the ins and outs i'd be happy to.  i post regularly in a guitar forum and help with restoration/modifications daily.

it's good to be here!  great forum!!!
