Hi all!
Last summer, before I actually got to know more details about Weber grills, we bought my mother in law a black 22” compact kettle. If I would have known everything I know now I would have bought something different; but that’s another story…..
However, today we had a very nice barbecue and suddenly the lid vent caught my attention with a totally strange to me vent code: “BL”
A quick check on the WKC website confirmed that this code should not exist.
I am from Austria, so maybe this is Europe specific; maybe also compact kettle specific?
Any thoughts?

Does Weber sell replacement vent covers and are they stamped?

They do and they are stamped in the year/date code in which they are made. I picked up an AU code replacement vent back in 2012..

I'm surprised no one has noticed it's upside down.
It says ... Uh... Never mind! :o

Ok – the mystery continues.
Last week I had a look on another compact kettle in my local hardware store – this time from 2014 I guess.
It says “BQ” on the lid vent….
So we now have BL for 2013 and BQ for 2014 for compact kettles ...... at least in Austria ;)
