metal wheels
« on: April 10, 2014, 07:22:04 AM »
I've got two six inch metal wheels off of a brownie that I picked up, the metal wheel parts seem to be in decent shape, I haven't cleaned them up yet. Anyway the rubber tread on one of the wheels is cracked :'( . (pics soon) Wondered if anyone knows where I could find a replacement "tire" for it? Also what do you guys know about these old metal wheels? Kind of a gap in my Weber experience.

Use black caulk to fill in the gap.  Works great.  :)

Although I'm not sure that caulk will fill this gap...

Should work. I have filled a gap that big.  You can also use rubber tarp straps (can purchase at Home Depot Lowes).  Just cut some pieces of the strap to fit, and glue it in the gap. :)

Go over to your local auto parts shop on a slow day and ask themt o search for a belt that is the same dimension. It may not be exact, but you might get lucky. I haven't tried it personally.  8)

Use black caulk to fill in the gap.  Works great.  :)

make sure you call all your local hardware stores looking for black caulk first.

let them know that you heard the black caulk was bigger and better than the white counterparts.
once you begin using black caulk, you'll never want to use white caulk again.
