Royal Oak. First time using.
« on: April 01, 2014, 07:19:01 PM »
My local Home Depot started carrying Royal Oak this year. I picked up 2 17lb bags since I was out of charcoal and I am impressed with it. I used it for brat night tonight and It doesn't seem as "poppy" as Cowboy and several of the guys I spoke to at Depot said that it blows the other brands away. So far so good.

I like both the Royal Oak & the new Cowboy lump charcoals pretty well. I have a stockpile of the new Cowboy that will last me until the next Presidential election, so I don't foresee any Royal Oak in my future, but they are both good products.

Lazzari Mesquite lump is available in 40# bags for about $11 at my local restaurant supply. Its decent, but IMO is not as good as the aforementioned products. I think you're doing well to use Royal Oak. If you ever see Wicked Good Weekend Warrior buy it, at any price. lol.
