I paid $35, a lot nicer than the last 18" I saw somewhere elsE . As far as the leg socket, I am either gonna drill it and put a stainless 6/32 bolt and nut or maybe I was thinking drilling and putting a pop rivet in there. I'm only worried about the pop rivet because it seems the aluminum rivet might soften up under heat and it won't hold so well after a while. The nut and bolt would be smaller in size than the rivet. You really won't see either one, I'll prob have to go with the nut and bolt I can use a lock washer as well to keep it tight.

I've used very small self-tapping sheet metal screws, run into a slightly smaller drilled hole....
Worked pretty good & held real tight for as long as I had the kettle
(No longer own it, or I'd get pics )
Great score.... !!!!!!
Was wondering, for you masters of rehab, how do you deal with the chipped enamel ?
Some kind of hi-test, hi-heat paint, or is there a whole other way to go about it ?
