I don't know if ypu know but I love the color yellow, and I have been looking for a yellow grill. Assuming I would never find one, I almost just resigned myself to never having one. I actually do have a real beat up yellow lid but no bowl to match. Well the other day on Craigs list there was a real weird post, it just said Weber Cooker. I sent an email asking if it was a grill or a smoker. The lady responded and said it wasn't a smoker but an old charcoal grill. Thinking it must be the usual run of the mill black kettle, I asked her what color it was. She responded and said yellow. I was so excited I didn't even know what to do. I then called her and asked where she was, it's like 1 1/2 hours from my house. I couldn't get down there until Saturday, and It was Tuesday! Then of course I figured one of the guys around here would snipe it before then. I kept checking the trading post to see if it was listed....but nothing. Well this morning I picked up my holy grail. It needs work but it will shine up real nice. The triangle it trashed, and the front leg socket is broken free in the fro
nt. I'll be able to repair it no problem. It was painted yellow somewhere in time, but I'll get that off, I think it actually protected the enamel. There are some dings but much better than I expected!
Here it is in my truck, she had a smokey Joe too that was totally shot, the legs rotted right off..
More pics to follow as I get her restored....
