You may have noticed some weird, russian messages being posted in the forums lately.
This is spam.

With black friday and the holiday shopping season fast approaching, spammers are out in full force.

Worry not - the site hasn't been hacked. Your data is completely safe.

However there are a hundred or so questionable accounts that have been created. We've banned several already and are doing our best to get the rest.

If you see spam, please don't reply to it.
Click the little "Report to Moderator" link and move on.
A mod will come along, smack the spammer with a ban stick and remove the thread.

Is it time to look at having to have new accounts approved manually before they can post?

If you need extra help with any mod/admin work (especially in a different time zone) Im sure there would be people willing to help.
