old steel wheel alternatives
« on: September 09, 2013, 09:07:03 PM »
I found these wheels on ebay, and I think they'll fit a weber just fine.

I'm going to try to hunt down some other vintage wheel sources and add them here.

if anyone else finds stuff, please reply with links!

Good eye Troy! Those will work well on a 26'r, but I bet they wind up going for much more.

These are the ones I want - or similar. Would need a longer front leg, but raising the kettle a few more inches is a priority for me. Might have to give it a try.

I was thinking about trying to find an old radio flyer. I believe those wheels would fit nicely too.

Here's one on ebay that I would probably rip apart. Although I'm not sure how the people at the Radio Flyer collectors club would feel about it.

When I put 8" wheels on my black OTG, I just bought an 8' stock piece of 1" aluminum and cut it to size. It shined up nice too. Plus you'll still have leftover if you want to make another grill taller or just need a spare front leg.

Or for stubby legs for the home made jumbo joe.
