That is a cool old grill. Thanks for the pics, still amazes me how well those old kettles take to the weather and still look good............and they can still cook like one that is brand new. Sweet piece of history!

Thanks guys, time will tell. His grill has sentimental value, which we all can appreciate. I know I would carry on the respect of this grill. I would so enjoy putting some hours in on this and bringing him a picture or even the grill. It is old school. He may think now, who is this person...Been in the driveway for years.? :o

Cook him a meal on it if you end up with it.

I am positive they are original, yes the do look weird. So small in compariton to the grill.

I would, but only after cleaning it up. Legs would take some time, they are not aluminum. He is a very nice gentleman, would love to have more history on this grill. But imposing on somebody, on a grill? I think they kind of freak out a bit.

Agreed on them being original. Weber has been well known for using up parts before changing them over. I wonder if this is a 1958?

Well I hope Karma comes my way on this one. I was able to at least share a little more history on Weber.
Would be fun to take apart and make pretty again.
