Well...all I really did with that area was use a dremel with wire brush to take off any surface rust.  I primed it with a 2000 degree paint, and then just shot it with a sage color spray.  Normally I would take more time and paint match it better, but there was no avocado color I found in visiting just a couple big box home stores.   If it was in a more visible area, I would have tried harder to match it...and I still might, but for now its done.  This grill won't see any grilling action as long as I have it.
