Hello from Western CO

I'm in Western Colorado where for the last few years the wind has been intense. This year we're struggling to breath due to the fire in Utah to the west of us.

So it started when I was looking to upgrade my outside cooking device. Had a "Smokey Hollow" searer/ gas/charcoal/offset combo unit. Decided I wanted to go live fire and was considering a charcoal with offset box.

Then I remembered my buddy up in Wyoming having burned down three gas grills in five years going back to his  kettle that he has used for 20+ years and a cabinet smoker. Was seriously considering purchasing a Master Touch in one of the fancy new colors but I kept coming back to the cost.

Low and behold I ended up on Marketplace and found a Red 18" 1984 kettle for $20. That was the bug that bit me, I didn't realize how big a thing Weber collection was/is. I picked up a barely used Master Touch for $80, a Performer Gen 4 for $120, and a free 18" 1977 on the curb someone was trashing which also happens to be my birth year. Found a once used Lime Green Master Touch for $70, a Copper 2014 Gen 3 Performer (the only year they made Copper in that model) for $100, and a very lightly used Green 1993 SSP for $25. The Wife picked up a little Smokey Joe for $15 as a trainer for my grand daughter.

I have acquired 3 Performers and 2 Master Touches for the price of either one new. The 2 18s and the Smokey Joe I consider bonus attachments.

Anyway, that's my Weber story and by the way...this all started around Memorial Day. Having an addictive personality can be expensive, but in this case it sure is fun.

Side note: I am looking for a Blue Gen 2 Performer to complete that collection. LOL!
