Hi all,

Just read a post related to being friendly and introducing yourself before start posting. Apologies, missed that mark originally.

So, hi!  I've read post on here and used the codes page way too much but not posting much.

Thanks for the wealth of knowledge you all share and attitude to help others!

Over the last year I acquired about 15 kettles mainly the 22" Premiums with different colors but nothing too dated (hopefully one day)!!! I've sold about half after giving them the basic handle mod and an added thermometer.

I'm from VA and have grilled smoked for years with many grills (non-kettles) but as of 2 years ago got bit with the kettle bug!

I've "restored" (more likely cleaned well) a few kettles and just picked up a 26" which will be my first true kettle project to repair and use for my own.

Look forward to being part of the site.  Hello to all!

Welcome from Virginia Beach, VA.

Gringo

Thank you RRR! Is there a VA Kettle group that you know of?  I looked lightly in forums but didnt pinpoint anything. Ill have to do a deeper dive though.

RRRanger99

@Gringo  There are some local established bbq competition groups I've seen at local festivals and fairs, but not really Weber kettle collectors.  The WKC has a

moderately sized VA contingent, but we are all spread out across Virginia.  It's just a matter of organizing a Virginia WKC meet up to bring us all together.

Gringo

Thank you for the information. I'll work on being consistent here for a bit and focus on kettles. Appreciate the reply.

Also Gringo, wanted to say that I really like your SSP!  Mine's a 2001 model.  They're awesome cookers and very convenient to cook on.

Gringo

Thank you, your SSP is the bomb though!!  The SSP I had was sold as my first clean and release. There was one whole in side bottom of grill and since I smoke more than most on the kettles I wanted to avoid that causing temp fluctuations. I did purchase a blue performer afterwards and is on my project list to put a cutting board table on it. Love your shade of green though!!  Hunter green is what we mostly find up here. Keeping my eyes out for a lime green some day.
