Has anyone successfully been able to do this?

I had to get mine re-certified. Any propane supplier can do it. I think it ran me $30 at the time. This was at least 5 yrs ago.

I have a place I bring mine to get filled and bring along my own QR fitting. Never had any issues.

If you are talking about filling a 5lb tank from a 20lb tank, then yes it does work and is fairly easy. You do need to build a custom hose which will cost a few $$, but then just follow the procedure shown in one of the many good old YouTube videos out there.

Not difficult but take on the project at your own risk.

Hi 604
Do you have any information on what kind of parts I need to make a hose to fill my 5gallon tank from a 20 gallon? Thank you kindly,

Brian
