Hillbilly engineering... so I got a new bowl headed to me for my performer from a buddy of mine.

My goal is to try to dual-purpose the burner tube..

Any thoughts or tell me I'm nuts.... trying to avoid drilling this kettle.

The hose I used is up to 450f rated... it just slips on when needed and pops off when I want to use the gas assist.

Trial run tomorrow

What are ur thoughts

I did something similar with my billows using a SS pipe and ThermoWorks adapter.

You made it more complicated than it should be.
The long pin keeps the fan inlet positioned downward.

Here's a more simple option. It's a billows adapter that would also work with the Fireboard fan.

TRAIL RUN..... Gas assist Fan set up.

Using 1 inch tubing instead of 3/4 ... instead of having a few right angles I ended up with just 2.

Ran the unit @ 225 for 3hr then @300 for 2 hrs and @375 to burn off the cook.

The burner tube adapter got no hotter then 65f.

Pretty happy with the results on this set up.
