Can we please have a moment of silence?

I had to put my well loved charcoal chimney to rest today. It has served me almost daily for over 10 years. It has helped me with 100's of meals for my late parents, friends, family & loved ones. I new it was coming, the holes just got bigger with every cook.  Today I went to put it to work and the insides collapsed. It is truly a hazard now as it is paper thin.  I realized it was time for retirement. It was my go-to chimney even though I have several others in my arsenal. I pulled his handle for remembrance.

So sad.  I just put my oldest in the recycling.  6 years.  I also kept the handle.

How many tons of charcoal do you think you have started with it over the years?

I couldn't even guess. I know I have gone through 77 20 lb bags of Weber charcoal in the last 3. Before that I bought 2 pallets of KBB when it was on the crazy $2.00 clearance about 5-6 yrs ago.  I cook almost every day on the grill when I'm home.

RIP chimney. Maybe the handle can go on the new one to carry on the family memories.
Happiness is found under the lid of a charcoal grill.

My condolences and the good thing, they are cheap
