New from Massachusetts
« on: July 19, 2022, 05:16:19 PM »
Im Matt from Waltham. I have 4 Webers, 3 of them kettles - a 2003 SSP (currently down but not out needing a good cleaning, one touch sweepers and a new propane burner/igniter), a new 2022 Performer, a Smokey Joe, and a 2012 Genesis E335 (in need of new burner tubes).  Also have a Monument gasser to fill in the holes (this one has a rotisserie).

Plan is to get the SSP back in action asap and the Genesis later this summer. Couple of griddle plates for the Monument will give that one a new purpose.

The SSP is a bit sentimental as it was my father in law's and he gave it to me the year before he passed.  Great memories cooking on that one.

Looking to add to the collection soon with a Jumbo Joe.

Been reading through various posts here. You guys are grate!

Matt

Welcome from Sacramento CA.  I just got my 2003 SSP up and running.  As was suggested by others, a good cleaning of the gas assist was all I needed to do and it works great.  So before chucking it in the bin, try cleaning out the orifice and blow out the burner tube with compressed air.  Works like a charm and saved me some coin.
