Weber Kettle Lid Lamp Shade

My Hot Rod Yellow 70th Anniversary grill arrived with a warped lid that was promptly replaced by Weber. So now, what do I do with the faulty lid? How about a lamp shade! The lamp is a Woods weather tight industrial light ($25) and the support is ½" black iron pipe and fittings (about $45). I drilled a 13/16" hole centered between the existing handle holes in the lid to accept the threaded pipe, ran the wiring through all of the pipe pieces and then joined them together starting with light. I painted the pipe and for the thermometer and handle holes in the lid, I used black plastic hole plugs (1- 3/8", 2- 5/16"). With the electrical, etc. total cost was about $100. The perfect light for cooking out on my Weber grills!

That is AWESOME!  Love your cooking area.  But kinda surprised not to see your metal sign prominently displayed.
You must have a really special place for that.  :D

Great repurposing of the lid. Nice work on it as well. Fits perfectly in your cooking area. Thanks to Weber's damage your Anniversary Kettle only cost you an additional $100! Ha, Ha.

Very cool, I have three colored SJ lids that I am planning on doing this with.

A three lid SJ light would be excellent!
