Fix a Brookstone GrillAlert wireless thermometer?
« on: April 14, 2022, 12:17:19 PM »
I have had a Brookstone GrillAlert wireless thermometer for ages but I dropped it and it looks like the power wires detached from the circuit board.

Does anyone know where they go?

It makes sense that one end of the black wire would attach to the battery holder next to the red one. But I don’t know where black and red would attach to the PCB.

It’s given me a lot of use so no dishonor in getting a new one. But I do get perverse pleasure from keeping old things running.

I can’t help with the repair job, but do have a question.  What is the range of your Brookstone Thermometer, how far away from the base can you be and still get a reading?  Thanks

I only use it about 15-20’ away, from outside to inside. Don’t know if it would go farther since I’ve never tried.

I’m staring at mine now wondering how to get the back off, without breaking it of course.

There are 4 phillips head screws under the rubber feet.
