Automatic temp control unit for Weber?
« on: July 10, 2013, 09:36:05 AM »
Anyone use one of these?
http://pitmasteriq.com/

I have no use for it, as I enjoy the 'manual' process, but thought it was a neat concept in case anyone was interested.

Would that work with the OT system, or does it only work on a three wheeler?

edit: never mind I see that it does. The picture shows it on a OT.

2009 Weber Spirit E310, 2013 22.5 OTG and a bunch of Weber stuff
I like my Weber's the same as my Ford's and Harley's, any colour, as long as it's black.

You can use them oin OTs as long as you have a way to block the other two vents, such as foil high heat tape etc.

Lots of people use ATCs, although much more common on a WSM than a kettle.    I have used a stoker for years and years on my WSMs, and I am fiddling around with it on the kettles for the fun of it.

I really like the idea of this system and the simplicity of it. If it didn't need to be plugged in that would be sweet. You can mod the power supply though if you really wanted. I have a Stoker and I really enjoy using it.

Alton Brown used this exact stoker on an episode of Good Eats. I like the idea of one, especially on my WSM, but I would use it so infrequently that I can't justify the price.
