So I haven't been very active lately other than cooking, and felt that I had enough grills to cook on for just about every situation and that barring a vintage yellow (or maybe a 26) I wasn't really looking for anything.   Then I saw this on Facebook.

The grill isn't what caught my attention, it was the ring.  A couple messages later, and I've got a early 70's (I think) 18" in the car along with the shish kabob ring.  Unfortunately the skewers and ash catcher are MIA.  Does anyone have a source for replacement skewers, or measurements even?   More pictures in the morning as it was dark when I got home tonight.  Thanks in advance

Jason G.

Very cool find! Looks like it should clean up pretty well.

Congratulations on a great score! I have enough grills to cook on too, but I keep adding to the herd.

I'd like to see the roti ring and kettle cleaned up. Please post a few pics of your RRR.

Cheers

Congratulations on a great score.  Those 18" kabob rings are pretty rare, not seen to often. I too scored a 18" shish kabob ring that had no skewers.  I have been using a set of skewers from a 22" shish kabob set. The 22" set works just fine.   I will try and get you the measurements

@dgodwin -  The measurements of the 4 skewers I am using for my 18" kabob ring are as follows:

(1) - 21 1/2"

(1) - 28"

(2) - 26"

The walnut handles are 4" long and are part of the above measurements. Again, these are skewers from a 22" Weber Kabob set.  There are 6 skewers in the set but the 4 skewers listed above work the best with the 18" ring.  Pretty sure they are made of stainless steel (required for use with food).

Thanks @Cellar2ful.  What's the shape of the steel? Square, rectangle, or round?

Thanks @Cellar2ful.  What's the shape of the steel? Square, rectangle, or round?

They are flat, 1/4" wide, approximately 1/16" thick. The end is cut to a arrow point making it easier to thread food onto the skewer.  The flat shape keeps the food from turning or spinning on the skewer.

Here's a larger image of the above photo:
