21,700 Btu/hr burner
1 lb propane bottle
LP has a heat content of 21,591 Btu/lb
Meaning you'll burn through a bottle in just about an hour running at full heat.

I have a few LP devices that use the 1lb bottles, and never have I ever used a 1lb bottle for them....always seem to have a 20lb and adapter hose around.

Can't wait to do a test-run when they are available for sale here in Costa Rica.

I think that is fairly normal

Well, a Q 1000 has an 8500 Btu burner, so it’s good for about 2-1/2 hours on a disposable bottle. Even the Q 2000 at 12000 Btu is good for over an hour and a half.

I get that if anybody is sensible they’ll hook up an adapter and run it off a big bottle. That isn’t really in line with a portable grill, though.
