Couple nights of Cooks pic's
« on: August 14, 2012, 01:05:38 PM »
Here are some Strip Steaks, shrimp, grilled carrots and ABT's from Saturday night.

We had some company as well.  Robert Daniels.

Last nights more authentic Kung Pao.  This stuff was rocking when I used the correct vegetables.  Tasted BETTER than the places around here.

Chicken breast, carrots, celery, onion, peanuts, chili peppers, garlic and ginger.  Didn't use bell pepper....I don't like it in Chinese food for some reason.

Yes.  Typically I don't buy a lot of prepared sauces due to the sodium, etc.  However, Shawn picked up some Simply Asia Premium Natural General Tso and Kung Pao sauces last week at the store.  I cringed when I saw 710mg of sodium in one and 640mg in the other.  However, there's 4 servings per packet which is 4.22oz, so with the quantity of food I've been using it for, the amount of serving is more than doubled.  So, bottomline is the sodium content doesn't matter at this point unless I ate the whole platter.  But there's been enough for myself, Shawn and my daughter who eats like an adult to have a large serving for dinner which is typically larger than an average serving and enough for Shawn to take for lunch the next day.  Man I didn't mean to justify this sauce this much, but I want you guys to try it.  The sauce is awesome and a little goes a long way.  That whole pan of food I made only had one packet of sauce in it and the flavor was spot on.

Here is a link to the sauce - http://www.simplyasia.com/products/Stir-Fry-Sauces.aspx
