Wagyu Sirloin/Porterhouse dinner tonight
« on: December 23, 2020, 02:42:23 AM »
Hi guys, just thought I’d share my dinner today Wagyu Sirloin grilled on the bbq (gasser) ☹️
Forgot to take pics on the grill but have them on the plate. Haven’t had much steak in a while and was a treat. And super tasty!
$55 kg at local butcher, he gave me two for one, really great guy, so I got a rolled pork loin from him for Christmas lunch. That will go on the kettle.
Cheers

🥩 looks great. I’m still not where I can see paying that much for meat, but I’m getting there...how did you season your steak, or did you? Looks so good,

Thanks mate, salt & pepper right before going on the grill.
I hear you, if it wasn’t a 2 4 1 scenario, it would have been chicken or ground beef and I’m ok with that.
Cheers

Love sirloin (especially top sirloin) great flavor and underestimated in US.  Did you taste a stepped difference for the wagyu?

I agree we love top sirloin.  But I love every cut of steak lol. I’ve only tried wagyu once and there was a huge difference. It’s pretty incredible imo.

Another reason I haven’t tried it is, I would probably feel cheated everytime thereafter I had a steak that was not wagyu

It has been a while since eating a whole piece beef other than ground.
It tasted superb, buttery even, subtle flavour to me like it was understated, once cooked looked like any sirloin but as soon as ate some you knew it was special.
A couple of chews it all fell apart and sucked it down with the juices, heaven.
Mid to low marble score.
It smashed anything from the supermarket.

awesome sirloin, one day I will go all out with a Wagyu
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Just had a 2.5# Wagyu flank steak for dinner. I can say for sure it’s definitely a step up on taste. Maybe two steps.
