restore performer weber
« on: August 29, 2020, 06:55:04 PM »
hi guys i need an help: I found a badly used preformer, at 1/4 the price of a new one (Italian market). Externally it is perfect, internally I would change the both grates and One-Touch Cleaning System. I would scrape off the rusty parts delicately with  vinegar and then treat them with  seed or olive oil. could i get a good result for a long time? advice?

Toss the the charcoal grate and sweeps.  The top grate is up to you.  Follow the restoration guides on the right side of the main page here: http://weberkettleclub.com

I would swap out all of the hardware for stainless hardware.  Some of the bolts/nuts you might have to grind off. Seasoning with either oil you mentioned would probably be fine.  Good luck!
