Has anybody ever grilled spatchcock (butterfly) chicken on rotisserie?

Hi all,

I was browsing the internet for some rotisserie chicken recipes and I found this article where the person did a spatchcock chicken on rotisserie. In the comments section, the person said they put the forks into the breasts and legs and thighs and it's never broken up on them. I was wondering if anybody has tried that. Here's the link to the web page for reference: https://tasteofartisan.com/rotisserie-chicken/

Spatchcocked chicken in a 14" rotisserie basket works well. The basket holds the chicken securely.

Interesting. Never seen it done quite like that. Most people that spatch and spin use a basket.

That sounds like a good idea. I'm going to try this weekend with forks to see how it holds up.

Do you have a brand or model that you like for a basket? I've been thinking about purchasing one.

never thought of doing it that way, but I'm going to give it a try

I use https://www.cajunbandit.com/product/onegrill-stainless-steel-rotisserie-flat-basket/ from Cajun Bandit. I prefer the flat stainless basket, but they have other options.

I use a OneGrill basket, it's kind of overkill, but works well.

Nice thanks. I just got that but I purchased it from the Onegrill site. I'm excited to use it! What have you cooked on it?

Nice basket. That looks like it could hold a lot. I may have to buy this basket too!

Basket weights in at seven pounds. It fits a 22" kettle without a problem
Later this summer, I plan to roast chili peppers and jalapenos in the basket.

Last weekend I cooked a deboned five pound boston butt. It tasted more like pork roast than low and slow pulled pork.

Worked beautifully, I tried it today, but forgot to take pics.

Does it save from having to tie anything?
