Unique Kettle
« on: July 15, 2020, 09:08:03 AM »
Hey dudes and ladies. Hope all is well with everyone.

A friend in SoCal picked up a kettle for me several months back, and I just now was able to get it into my backyard. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen, but maybe someone out there has.

It’s my understanding that among MBH 18s, the colors to have ever been offered (aside from customs) are:

Black
Red
Chocolate (fade)
Lime
Avocado
Yellow
Blue
Green

In the pics I originally had in the listing, I thought it was maybe a faded red, but seeing it in person, I feel as though it may be a chocolate without any kind of fade. It’s a B code 18 MBH. The porcelain all around (including under vent tabs) seems to be very uniform in color. If it were some sort of sun fade, I would have expected it to be less consistent.

Was a chocolate with no fade anything that was ever produced? Is it perhaps something else I have not mentioned or am not aware of? Thanks in advance to all you knowledgeable folks. Can provide additional specific pics upon request.

Cool kettle.  I’ve seen a 22 in a similar color.  Could just be the lighting.  Early 80s I think.

I was really tempted to make the drive for this one just to see if it had the fade.

Sweet grill

I’ve seen two brown with no fade within the last two months. There was one listed locally a month in a half ago that I missed on. I also have seen one in the wild. I need to pay the one i saw in the wild a visit again.

I had a no fade 22in wood handle, can't remember code... gifted to a young grill cook that worked for me in one of the restaurants I've worked.
