Gas gave me the blues
« on: May 15, 2020, 11:17:24 AM »
Y'all know I'm a long time charcoal guy although I do own a cpl Genny Jrs. that the grandkids will eventually own. This beautiful 1 owner Genesis Silver C was found on FBMP. Pride of ownership shows for sure cuz this is an older one. Rock solid rust free frame, SS cooking grate in good shape. 3rd set of flavorizer bars which ill replace with SS and burners that fired up 1st time when I got home. The Side burner was never used per the seller, it fired up 1st time too. She spent most of her life under an included cover and in a protected cooking area. Not sure how to date these but seller said she believed it was bought in 1998. Having the double swing up tables is pretty sweet, most I've seen only have the one on the left.

Sweet blue
Seeking a Black Sequoia I know I know, I'd settle for just the tabbed no leg grill

Nice one Scott.[emoji482]
As far as the date goes look under the panel where the gas valves are. There should be a certification tag under there with the same letter code in the serial# as the charcoal age guide. If that is gone look for a date stamp on the front bottom center of the cookbox or on the inside of the castings for the lid.

I’ll tell you, I use my Genny ALL THE TIME. I adore charcoal, I really do, but sometimes (ok, often!) I just don’t have the bandwidth and being able to “turn it on” then “turn it off” fits my life. I have a Silver B and were it irretrievably die, I would be right here asking for a replacement.
