This is one that I have appretiatiaded. (Burn your eyes on that one, Gummi!) I replaced the ash catcher with the current model when I replaced the 7409s with 7444s. Attached the ash catcher with hose clamps.
I stealthed the gas assist. Poorly done, when compared to Bisbee, but it works.
I bought this SSP from an older gentleman here in Bakersfield named Woody. He had quite a few kettles, and was selling a few. He said: "I have four houses, and I like to keep just a few kettles at each house." But he sold me the SSP and a brownie. He was aware of WKC, I don't think he was a member. Good guy.
And the kettle is going away. My daughter's boyfriend bought their first house, and it is going to him. (Trying to auto-generate kettle karma, Jon? It doesn't work that way!) I found out that I was losing a kettle when I was out back lighting a chimney, getting things ready to cook dinner. My wife and daughter came out to inform me that "Joe got the house, and he'll need a barbecue." And "It would be best if the kettle is blue."
That's not happening. I only have one blue kettle, one that I received from SwamInPBR a while back. That blue kettle is not going anywhere. The boyfriend will have some other kettle.
There is a bag of Stubb's in the bin, a chimney underneath, and assorted tools and utensils. The boyfriend just needs to provide the matches. And the food.
