I had been searching for quite a while to find a set of skewers that were long enough to work with a used kabob ring I got with a kettle some time ago. Eventually, I grabbed an unused set someone was selling. But, I always hate using something that hasn't been used yet. So, I kept looking. One day, Google yielded up an old Etsy listing with length information about the skewers, but more importantly, the box the skewers came in. I recognized the box as being something I bought over a decade ago at a garage sale, just because I'd never seen kabob skewers that long. Went into the garage to see if I moved them from my old house, went to where I guessed I would have put them & there they were. A set of 4. Had the manufacturer's name, so I found a single identical used set online & bought that set of four too. Thought it was hilarious that I had these skewers the entire time I was looking for skewers that were long enough.
Some time back, I saw someone post about the vintage rib rack (like have a regular vintage rack) that were for the 18" kettles. Didn't know if I would ever use one, but thought it was neat just because you don't find the 18" accessories as often. Kept peeking at listings for them every now & then, but held back since I had the bigger one & wasn't sure if I'd even use the smaller one. Today, I was in the garage looking for something else, and found out that I actually own one already. It was in a pile of "accessories" I got with Weber grills that I assumed were not actual Weber accessories. When I got it, I wasn't aware they made ones in that size, so I assumed someone else made it.
Now, I have to see what the hell else I got laying around.
