Took a ride and broke 200k Long Story PIC HEAVY

Met up with @AZogas whom I give a BIG THANKS for being an agent for both of these fine grills.
The HC is moving on to another Grate member here. Statesman stays in the stables of the  barn.
The HC was found here in the NE and was picked up by Will I don't remember his name here. I was getting HC to other member and Alex was to pick it up as he was headed to Cape Cod from Albany. Fast forward a few weeks and I find the Statesman in FB. It was in between Boston and the Cape. Alex got to secure the grill and even cooked for his family on it. Now a few months has gone by and Alex and I finally were able to meetup.
We met 1/2 way of the NYS Thruway, 26 minutes for him and 36 minutes for me. I brought him a NIB Bud Light SJG and a NIB black lantern which I've had for a good 6-8 months for him. Always room in the barn.
So I got home to find a really nice shape 64-68 Statesman. Initial cleaning proves very promising. This isn't restored, just nothing goes dirty into the barn. The HC will be going on another 2 journeys before being home. What a story that is! I'll let that member write it up. RRR












Came with a vintage Rib Rack and CnT ring













Must have been put together wrong as the one wheel is on backwards and the triangle upside down.

This rib rack is huge. Metal is bigger gauge then modern grates and just fits the 22. Belongs in a 26r.

What a beauty that redhead is & with accessories to boot! 

I've got a NIB mid to late 60's rib rack & another well used one that might be from a slightly different time.  Guy I bought the boxed one from also had a NIB corn n' tator I agented for another member and a NIB kabob set that he bought at the same time.  He mentioned the year he bought them when I talked to him over the phone & it was early enough that I thought there would be a small possibility the boxes might say Wood Dale, but they did not.  Can't say I wasn't a bit disappointed.

Did the HC have an internal ash pan? I have got a gas version one and it had a socket underneath it to centralize it?

The HC is the gasser on the left in the picture, so it would not have an internal ash pan.  It also took me a while to realize that was the Happy Cooker Colin was talking about because I'd never seen one quite like that one.

The gassers come with an internal ash pan also in some versions

@Pezdogs  Thanks for the heads up.  I didn't know that.  But it leads to the question, why include an internal ash pan in a gasser?  My only guess is that in a gasser, it is really an internal grease drip pan.     I take it they just use the same pan.

Nah it has like a leg socket welded to the underneath of it . I snapped it off as it hit the base  of the kettle then I found a charcoal one.

HC didn’t use IAC pans in the gas versions.  The IAC with the leg socket underneath is for charcoal pedestal kettles with height adjustment.
